Fall tranquility

An old uprooted tree trunk in mid-stream gives way to a great backdrop of water, woods and color in this recent photo taken along the Betar Byway in South Glens Falls. The Betar Byway is featured in our Saratoga hiking book as Trail #25.

Get out and enjoy this great trail, the scenery and the cool weather.

Nice photo! The Betar Byway is one of my absolute favorite birding spots, even at this time of year - plenty of cardinals and woodpeckers of all sorts, and the occasional sighting of a double-crested cormorant on the river.
