Letchworth State Park - Grand Canyon of the East!

We just left Letchworth State Park. Its gorges and waterfalls are wonderful. It is a hidden treasure, just south of Rochester, NY. It has hiking trails, you can bike its quiet roadways, stay at hidden resorts and even whitewater raft, canoe or kayak along the waters of the Genesee River that flow through this ancient gorge. We experienced it through the hospitality of the Livingston County Tourism Bureau as a part of our NY State Outdoor Writer Association's Spring Safari. But you can plan your own trip, for a weekend, a week or a summer at: http://www.fingerlakeswest.com/ or the Chamber of Commerce at: http://www.livingstoncountychamber.com/

Enjoy it if you get out that way. We did!

Right now with all the rain we've had, the waterfalls in Letchworth are gushing. Use the guidebook "200 Waterfalls in Central & Western New York" to locate and enjoy all 23 waterfalls (as well as many others across NY). http://www.footprintpress.com
