Ooops!

In the last post, that was a Winter scene ato the summit at Buck Mtn. This photo, from the same source, is from Hadley Mtn in April. Not AS cold, but cool enough for thinking cool weather.

Hadley Mountain

We're going to go up Hadley Mtn at 2 pm on July 2nd, 2008 to do some wildflower research for one of our upcoming books. You are welcome to join us. If you think it might be a little warm, here is a pic from Stuart & Suzanne Delman of Hadley mountain in a different season.
Think cool!

Bunchberry

We are working with Diane Collins on a North Country Wildflower book. She knows wildflowers and we know how to write. It's a great combination. Here's an example of what we found up on Hadley Mountain, near Lake George, NY . This flower only blooms May-July, and we'll tell you that again when the book comes out.

Denton Wildlife Sanctuary

Since one of our Saratoga hiking trails has been permanently closed, we needed to revise the Saratoga Area hiking book. So I was forced to explore this little known wildlife sanctuary and its trails. Apparently it is so little known that I couldn't find it on The Nature Conservany's website, and they own it. Hey just doing our job for our readers, despite facing hzards like this GIANT SERPENT we encountered today.
Best to all of you who take the time to follow this Blog.

Lake George Area Biking Book

When I moved to Glens Falls a couple years ago it was with the intention of writing a couple of biking books for the Lake George and Saratoga regions. Seems Mike was much too busy golfing to do so. So we are finally getting around to writing those biking trail guides. Mike snapped this pic a couple of days ago out on the Pack Demo Forest trail just north of Warrensburg, NY. That trail is written up and has put us past the half way point on the Lake George biking book.
Onward and upward! It's dirty work, but it's all for our future readers' enjoyment.
