Coles Woods wildflowers

In preparation for our May 22nd wildflower outing,

In Search of Spring Wilflowers, I scouted Coles Woods today. Here's what I found. The skunk cabbage is up and spreading its leaves out in most places. Coltsfoot flowers are all along some paths. The yellow Marsh Marigolds are up and blooming. Fiddlehead ferns are just arriving, and the Red Trilliums, as illustrated here, are up, with more on the way. Spring is truly here, FINALLY!!!! Get out and enjoy this spring weekend. And, please check out our LG Spring wildflower guide at: http://rogerfulton.com/ecotours/NYBooks/lake-george-wildflowers.htm

Springtime at Hovey Pond

The last remnants of snow are nearly gone. So we thought we would take a walk around Hovey Pond in the Town of Queensbury to see if spring had arrived yet. We found the birds singing, small green shoots coming out of the ground and even the flowers in this photo already in full bloom. So get out an enjoy! Hovey Pond is featured in our Lake George hiking book.
